Diplomatic Relations Between Myanmar and Germany

Diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and Union of Myanmar were established on 9 April 1954. Myanmar opened its legation in Bonn on 9 April 1954 with the Federal Republic of Germany following suit on 22 April 1955. The legations of the two countries were raised to Embassy level in 1962. There has been an uninterrupted exchange of resident envoys between the two countries. H.E. Dietrich Andreas is the current German Ambassador to Myanmar while H.E. U Tin Win is the present Myanmar Ambassador in Berlin.
